CASE STUDY
How Wednesday Runners & Walkers Turned AI Concepts Into Real Merchandise
Hervey Bay community running club
Wednesday Runners & Walkers, a Hervey Bay running club, had only AI-generated concepts, not factory-ready artwork. Sphere Resources rebuilt them as eight production-ready designs across singlets, raglan tees, crop tops, sports bras, visors and sublimated towels, then managed sampling, manufacturing, quality control and freight.

The Challenge
A Look, Not a Print File
AI-generated images can suggest a mood and colour palette, but they are not vector artwork a factory can print. Sphere had to translate the club's intent into files that would reproduce accurately on fabric.
One Identity Across Six Garment Types
A singlet, a visor and a sublimated towel each carry artwork differently. The eight designs needed to read as one deliberate collection rather than six unrelated products, with no existing brand system to build from.
No Designer, No Brand Assets, No Starting Point
The club had no in-house designer and no logo to hand over. Every decision about the range had to be made from scratch, then translated into something a garment factory could produce.
The Solution
Rather than asking the club to find a designer before placing an order, Sphere's team plans to interpret its AI concepts as eight production-ready designs and a usable visual identity. From there, it coordinates sample review, pre-production approval, manufacturing and quality control, keeping the approved artwork linked to the finished product. The range is released in three staged consignments rather than held for one shipment, so finished lines can reach the club ahead of its event instead of waiting on the slowest one. This approach keeps design, production and quality decisions aligned before bulk work begins.
The Objectives
- Translate AI-generated concept images into print-ready production artwork.
- Build one consistent visual identity across six different garment types.
- Manage design, manufacturing, quality control and freight as a single process.
- Release finished stock in staged consignments ahead of the club's event.
The Results

Eight Designs, One Visual System
Sphere's design team turned the club's AI concepts into eight production-ready designs, giving Wednesday Runners & Walkers a visual identity it didn't have going in — one consistent enough to carry across six different garment types.

A Full Range Built From a Starting Sketch
From concept image to finished garment, the range covered singlets, raglan tees, crop and midriff tops, sports bras, visors and sublimated towels — around 468 units delivered without a single piece of client-supplied production artwork.

A Reorder Already in Production
Three staged consignments supported delivery ahead of the event. A repeat midriff-top order followed in August 2026 and remains in production, while the same contact introduced another club.
A Repeatable Range From Early Concepts
Most small clubs assume custom apparel is out of reach without a designer or factory-ready artwork. This project shows that gap can close: the finished range reflected the club's direction, it returned for more, and referred another club to Sphere.
